FUNCTIONAL NARRATIVE

Responsible and accountable for conducting accurate and thorough background investigations, including, but not limited to, past employment verifications, reference checks, ordering and reviewing Motor Vehicle Records, Accident Reports, Criminal Records, social security number verification, compliance with human resources, capacity development and company initiatives and programs. Accountable to utilize trained methods and a uniform and consistent approach to processing driver applicants for employment. Accountable to meet any and all processing deadlines to ensure the timely processing of applicant paperwork. Must follow all set procedures as well as applicable Federal, State and Local Laws (specifically the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations as established by the US Department of Transportation as well as company policies and procedures.

B. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, Including, But Not Limited To:

Evaluate driver applicant qualifications using the Comcar Driver Qualifications and Hiring Guidelines. Must follow; understand/have knowledge of DOT Regulations and applicable Local, State and Federal laws governing hiring and employment.

Accountable to work with and communicate with all customers and coworkers in a professional and courteous manner.

Execute and coordinate the applicant screening process to include completing phone verifications, initiating and running USIS reports to include, MVR’s, Criminal Background’s, CDLIS, work history reports and any other reports deemed necessary.

Communicate, adhere to, and enforce the Comcar Industries hiring process uniformly to maintain compliance and accuracy.

Enter and update driver applicant data and continuously maintain accurate and valid information through on-going maintenance of the Driver Recruiting Software (Tenstreet).

Maintain up-to-date knowledge and a clear understanding of all subsidiary trucking operations of Comcar Industries.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Strong interpersonal communication skills

Excellent organizational and skills. Position requires being involved in and handling multiple tasks at once. Coordinate activities with respect to final deadlines.

Computer system experience with the Internet and Microsoft Office Suite

Willing to understand and support change, as it relates to processes, structure and business modeling

Positive attitude and well groomed professional appearance

Excellent time management skills

Must be a self-starter, creative thinker and problem solver

Must be able to adapt to changing priorities and meet multiple deadlines

Detail Oriented

Maintain current/up to date knowledge of DOT regulations

OBJECTIVE PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

Measure and track performance levels of 1) Processing of reports and phone verification turn around, 2) Accuracy and thoroughness of the processing effort, 3) Orientation removals due to improper or insufficient screening.

Monitor and use effectively the recruiting database (Tenstreet). All information must be kept up to date and accurate.

Review and evaluate each background report for compliance with Governmental Regulations and Company Policies.

PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS

The Processor is accountable to the Comcar Capacity Development Compliance Coordinator. All coworkers are expected to work with each other in a professional, courteous, and cooperative manner. The Processor is not responsible to manage subordinates.
